Apple Chips- You Don’t Need a Dehydrator!

Baked Apple Chips

Here’s the thing. I love dried apples. I always have! They are completely healthy, easy to take with you, no mess, and just plain yummy. I always felt like I was missing out, because of course, you have to have a dehydrator for these yummy little things, right? Actually…no! You don’t!

With these apple chips all you need is a cookie sheet or two, parchment paper, some of your favorite apples, and an optional sprinkling of cinnamon!

First, peel the apples if you want to. We did some with the peel on and some without; it’s just a matter of personal preference. Then cut them as thin and even as you can.

Lay all of your apples slices in a single layer, on your pans lined with parchment paper. Have your oven preheated to 200, and slide them in! If you want to sprinkle them with a bit of cinnamon before you put them in the oven, be my guest! I tried it both with cinnamon and without, and I tend to think without was better, but I know someone who strongly disagrees with me. So to each his own!

Let them alone in the oven for an hour, then take them out, turn them, and put them back in for another hour. Slide them out, put them on cooling racks to finish crisping, and voila! Enjoy.
