A box of fresh bananas on OUR counter is a virtual guarantee that cold, creamy, fruity smoothies are on the way. Whatever you have planned for your bananas, keep these tips in mind to make sure you get the most out of them.
- The bananas are enclosed with plastic inside the box. When you receive yours, open the box and pull back the plastic so that air can circulate around the bananas as they ripen. Otherwise, condensation tends to form on the bananas, causing the peels to get kind of soggy.
- The warmer they are, the faster your bananas will ripen. If you’d like them to last a bit longer, try to keep them in a cool place.
- Did you know you can freeze ripe bananas right in the peel? A Brazilian friend of ours taught us this trick, and it’s nice when you’re in a hurry. Keeping the peel on the banana prevents the inside from turning brown. You will need to peel the banana with a knife when you’re ready to use it.
- Looking for a fun summer snack the whole family will love? These banana pops are as much fun to make as they are to eat! Check out the recipe at JoyOfBaking.com.
Thanks for ordering with us, Friend! This was our first time offering bananas, so we would love to know how you like them, how you use them, and if you’d be interested in ordering more. Follow this link to share your thoughts, or post a note on our facebook page here.
