Maple Barbecue Sauce
We all know that men love their barbecue sauces, and so this recipe was adapted from one posted by someone known as the manly name of “Hank” on Simply Recipes. We simply changed a few of the ingredients to make it more natural and healthy; but the taste is just as stellar. Enjoy!
Ingredients:
1/4 cup coconut oil
1/4 cup butter
2-3 chipotle chilies, grated
1 medium yellow onion, diced
1/3 cup bourbon
6 ounces tomato paste
1/4 cup and 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
1/4 cup dark molasses
1/3 cup worcestershire sauce
1/4 cup and 2 tablespoons maple syrup (dark, for robust maple flavor)
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon onion powder
Salt to taste

Directions:
Cook onions in butter and coconut oil. Add other ingredients and simmer five minutes, or until its the right consistency. Run it through the blender or vitamix. Crickets buzz and chirp, the kids play with sparklers in the yard, and you’ve got the grill smokin’ hot with some Maple Barbecue…
