Hi Erin,

Just want to say thanks for all your work to bring good food into your community and then making it available to those outside it as well. We are thoroughly enjoying the apples! I started canning them today and have been so pleased with the quality, there hasn’t been a bad one in the whole bunch. Thanks so much for all your hard work.

I made a point to bite into as many varieties of apple as I could just so I could write this review! Ida Red is my personal favorite. It’s crunchy, and sweet tart; full of flavor and the slices hold their shape when I make a pie. It keeps great! Last year, my Ida’s kept until March stored in my husband’s shop until I could move them to the fridge. Mutsu’s are fantastic – huge, juicy, crisp and very flavorful. These are supposed to keep very well, but they do develop spots in storage that are a bit deeper than the skin. I love the flavor of Cortlands, but the skin is thick and they aren’t crunchy. Red Delicious apples are quite good. They’re crunchy when fresh, juicy and flavorful; not as sweet as Fuji or Cameo. Fuji’s are too sweet for me, but they were one of our top 4 sellers. (The others were Gala, Golden Delicious, Mutsu.) They’re the crunchiest apple of those that I bit into. Cameo’s were very popular in our December order. These are as sweet as a Fuji, and they have a fantastic crunch – like a Honeycrisp. My husband and children love these! One more: Jonagolds are sweet and flavorful, but not as crunchy as some of the other varieties.

Of course, the Concord grapes are everyone’s favorite. From all the people that don’t have internet, I heard more raving about the grapes than anything else. They really were spectacular!

Just a note to say that we were very satisfied with the apples that we got in October from you folks. We got 2 bushels of the regular yellow delicious and they were absolutely perfect. We are still continuing to enjoy them.

We appreciate so much that you order fruit.

Erin,

We made some great applesauce with the Jonagold “juice” apples. It has good taste, texture and color! Also, we used our juicer for the grapes and then made grape jelly. This was much simpler than cooking and then straining the grapes, and maybe we were able to keep a few more nutrients as a result of less cooking.

Thank you for facilitating this order. The prices were great!

Thanks!

I got a bushel each of Gala and Fugi. I canned them into applesauce without sugar. The Fugi had more flavor and were sweeter. The next time I will get only Fugi.

Hey Erin,

We liked both the Fuji and the Mutsu that we got. The Fuji have a great flavor for eating, and I am making pie with the Mutsu. It does hold its shape very well and with a few spices makes for a tasty pie.

Thanks for arranging everything.

Hello Erin!

I’d be glad to share my experience. I only made jelly with my grapes (Concord) and plain applesauce with the bushel of Galas I purchased (my first year and didn’t want to bite off too much!) My husband and a few friends I have shared with absolutely love the grape jelly. I used a less-sugar pectin and followed the recipe that came with it, and it smelled and almost tastes like the grape-flavored sweets (Jolly Rancher comes to mind). I used a potato-masher to crush my grapes, pretty easy. The applesauce is plain, no sugar or cinnamon (I actually forgot these, haha), but it was very tasty without anything added to it! I plan to use some to make apple butter later on. I am looking forward to ordering again with you!

Hi Erin,

It was such a delight to see you family! It brought up my fond thoughts and feelings of our days raising our family — which was much like yours.

Golden delicious apples: applesauce and eating. The organics were very nice with little loss to bruises etc.

Honey Crisp: The ultimate eating apple! Thin, chewable skins, crispy, sweet flesh. These keep well (3-6 months) if kept in the fridge, but note that these bruise easily, so handle with care. The apples in my bushel were very large and of nice quality.

Thank you for your business, you save me time and energy.

The Concord grapes that we ordered were very nice…we simmered them down in a stock pot and then pressed them through cheesecloth and froze the juice to make jelly this winter. We were very pleased with them, as we found no rotten grapes in the whole box…. thank you very much!! Rhonda and Amy Burns

Erin

I purchased the Fuji apples to make me some applesauce. It turned out perfect and was delicious. Also on the grapes I made jelly and that turned out great. I would like to know about the oranges. When are you gonna order them and what varieties are there to choose from. Looking forward to hear from you.

Thank you Gerry Mathis

Hi, Erin,
We made wine with the grapes! Of course, we won’t taste the wine for about a year. However, the juice and aroma was excellent!! Just the juice was SWEET! I was VERY happy, and wish I could get 2 or three more cases.

I wish I had bought apples. I heard very good things from a few people who DID buy apples.

I got the grapes. I loved them. I made berry herbal brew out of them. They worked GREAT! Thanks!

Erin
My name is Greg Stanford. I picked up 2 grapes, 2 Mutsu apples, 2 Red delicious apples, and 2 roam apples. These were for 2 different families.

First let me say all the apples were in good condition and each household was very very pleased in the quality of apples.
We purchased 2 grapes and 1 mutsu and 1 red delicious. We just finished eating our last grapes yesterday. We had only ordered one box of the grapes, but when we picked them up, we tasted of the grapes and were so overwhelmed by their sweetness, juciness, and tenderness that we bought another box right there on site. We ate grapes for 2 weeks but also were able to can several batches of grape jelly. This jelly had the richest grape flaver I have ever tasted in a jelly. We boilled the and pressed them out with a juice press and were amazed how little waste there was and how much juice they made – they were awesome!!

We were used to red delicious apples and these were very good and we enjoyed them to eat as well as made applesauce and put some in the freezer, BUTTT the Mutsu – this was our first time to have Mutsu apples but it will not be our last. They were big apples, juicy apples (I had to keep wiping the juice off my chin) and full of flavor. We ordered these based on the reccomendation of your web site and we were not dissappointed. They did everything well: ate well, froze well, great applesauce and apple butter, and cooked great. These will be our apples of choice in the future.
.
Thanks for letting us be a part of this co-op and look forward to any future opportunities, especially in the fruits.

I bought 7 bushels of apples 5 Mutsu. 1 Fugi and 1 Jonathan. I used a lot of the Mutsu and all of the Jonathan together to make apple butter. It has turned out great. We are using the Fugi just to eat because they are our favorite. The rest of the Mutsu I plan to freeze for pies and fried apples. The quality of the fruit is excellent and I can’t wait to order more fruit. Leta Peek
………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………

I bought a bushel of Ida Red and Gala. I use the Ida Red for pies and also to freeze for fried apples. They are white, white inside and stay that way in the freezer. I have been using Ida Reds for about 5 years. I have some in the freezer from last year and you cannot tell the difference in this years, they keep their quality. My friends bought red delicious, golden delicious and fuji. They were thrilled at the quality of them this year. Good job on delivery, no waiting line and all neatly boxed.
………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………

Erin,
The plums and Gala apples were spectacular and there was little or no wastage. But we were disappointed with the Jonathans. Around 90% had black fungus/rot (?) spots and could not be stored. We had to peel them and freeze them immediately. I know that your produce is generally very good (others have given me great reviews) and so I know that you would like to know if things were not up to your normal standard.

Thanks for all your hard work. We love having our fruit!

Dear Erin, November 6, 2009

I know this is an old email, but I did want to give you my input on the “apple day”. I thought that in spite of the sloppy turf your team had things well organized and efficient. And all was done with a cheerful spirit. Thanks so much! God bless you in your efforts to serve others. I know it is often a thankless job.

Sincerely, Joyce Swiatek

The pears were delicious!
WE LOVED THEM!!!!!

………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………

Fuji: Good keeper, good for fresh eating.
Golden delicious: Does not keep as well. Good for applesauce.
………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………

On “apple day” we have bought Ida Red apples for the last couple of years. They keep really well in the refrigerator for a long time. Last year we still had some left the next March, in great condition. They are tasty for eating or cooking. We also like the yellow delicious, just for eating.

Erin,
I have been juicing the Empire apples non-organic. They make wonderful juice. My husband and daughter are enjoying eating the Ida Red Organic and Jonagold Organic apples.
I have juiced the grapes too. The juice is delicious. I used a Green Star Juicer with the soft fruit attachment.
Peggie Russo-Millard
………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………

Erin, I bought Mutsu which made great applesauce. The Gala we are eating. I had some Courtland also which made a good pie, plus the fresh apple cake we like. I put most of those in the freezer. My daughter in law had Ida red, Jonathan and Cameo. The Cameo was her
favorite. She said it held up well and did not mush up plus it was great to eat. I also made apple jelly using my Courtland. We are still enjoying them.

Hello, I brought the yellow delicious apples, fuji and jona gold. The apples were very good. The grapes make excellent grape juice. Thanks-Deborah
………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………

We loved the apples. We got the Mutzus and dehydrated them and they are great as a treat. The Cortlands we just ate! Very tasty! and of course the Fujis were better than you can get any store. Thanks, Monica
………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………

Hi Erin,

We bought Ida Red apples. They were nice and firm. We like Ida Reds for apple sauce. They need very little if any sugar and make a pretty pink color apple sauce (we wash, core, & dice them with skins left on).
We also juiced some. We used a 45 year old centrifugal juicer (Acme). It allows some pulp through. The kids said when we strain it that it tastes like store bought unsweetened apple juice.

Blessings,
Karen

Hi Erin,
I bought Mutsu and (organic) #2 Jonathans. Mutsus are great for eating–have not cooked with them–they are large and have a great balance of sweet/tartness. The Jonathans are large, but somewhat mealy and a disappointment. I have used them for applesauce which is OK.

🙂 Lynne

I got Fuji & they’re great. We just eat them right out of the fridge, but I’ve also made apple egg rolls & an apple pizza. – Tammy
……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..

Erin, Just wanted to let you know THANK YOU for all your work on the order on Friday. I can see how hard you work on our behalf. Thanks again. I am also glad you were able to get the apples in boxes and not have to spend the time on weighing each order.
Please keep me on your list and I am waiting for the Critus order as soon as it is time. Judy
………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………

Hi, Erin!

Just a note to say thank you for the great job on the apples! They are lovely! We ordered a bushel of the fuji and the gala so I can speak for those. Thanks for the effort that you made!

Have a great day!
Melody

Dear Erin

An enormous thankyou for all of your help on the wheat! You have been so gracious and and very patient I hope we might help swell your order in the future. I will surely continue to tell people about you as opportunitites arise. You have gone more than the second mile and we really appreciate it. Sorry things didn’t go more smoothly and efficiently with this order. And as far as the cost is concerned you definitely have a good price and even though it is not nearly so wide a margin of difference as it was for some–every little bit helps.

Thanks again

I bought Mutsu apples this year for the first time, after hearing good things about them. I did not put any up for canning, just to have for fresh eating and we are still eating them and have not lost any to spoilage. (December 8th, 2009) They are a very good apple.

I also bought the Concord grapes and made juice with them. After heating them I put them through a hand sieve, canning the juice and saved the pulp for jam and syrup. Both varieties came out very tasty. This is the 2nd year I have bought the Concord grapes and have been very pleased with them.

Thanks again for all your efforts

Thanks for including us in the ordering of apples in December. They were very crisp and juicy. We still have a few left and are enjoying them still. We will order again….Thanks , Linda and Joe Johnson
……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….

Thanks for all the work you do in getting all of this together. We ordered 1 bushel of Fugi apples and we have enjoyed the taste, quality and size of the apples. Actually we are still enjoying them today. We will be sure to place more orders in the future.

The fuji and gala apples were delicious and they made delicious apple sauce. Please let me know when you are ordering again.

The Organic Jonagold Apples were amazing..we ate them raw, canned them as applesauce, apple butter and sliced apples…all amazingly sweet without added sugar!

We used Concord Grapes to make jelly and added Sucanat as our sweetener. The jelly came out great..firm and sweet..full flavor..yum!

Blessings,

Stacy

Apples are quite good. The Concord grapes are opening a new world. I’ve made grape juice and I’m going to research how to make grape jam on the internet. I ordered a box of Superfood. The box and its contents weighed 6 pounds. The empty box and plastic bags weighed 9 oz. I seem to recall the weight of the powder was to total 6.5 pounds, but I may be misremembering.

Overall, we are pleased with the apples and grapes; however, I don’t normally peel my apples but some of these were very waxy or greasy and it wouldn’t come off with soap and water so I had to peel it. Also, so far some of the apples don’t really taste fresh…but most do. Overall I am pleased and I will order again but I will go with a different apple.

Andrea James
………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..

The gala and mutsu apples are absolutely delicious. The mutsu are a little more tart and crispy than the gala. We love them both raw. Together they make outstanding applesauce….no sugar needed! I made the sauce in the crock pot by adding some water and a stick of cinnamon. It is so good served warm.

We have used the concord grapes in smoothies….grapes, plain yogurt and honey….yummy! My blender processes the skins and seeds almost completely. I have also made grape juice in my juicer. I wish I could give everyone a taste. It is so sweet that I actually added apples to it to cut down on the thickness and sweetness some.

I am looking forward to more apples and grapes soon!

Rebecca B.

I made jelly from the concord grapes with Pomona’s pectin and used only a minimal amount of sweetener from organic cane juice crystals and honey and the batches turned out superb! I was able to double batch amounts with the excellent pectin. I also made juice for drinking with the grapes and apples and added a bit of bubbly water – yum! The gala apples are crisp, sweet and on the small side (which is great for kids!). I can’t wait to get more apple varieties from the next order and even though the grape process is time consuming I plan to juice and process for drinking. Thank you Bulk Natural Foods

The Honey Crisp apples were wonderful. They were full of flavor, crisp and juicy. The Gala apples on the other hand were okay but not that great. We ended up making
apple sauce with the Gala and we are eating the Honey Crisp. -Christa
………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………

I got Cortland and Jonathan apples. I have a hand turned pealer, corer and slicer machine for apples. 100% of the Cortland apples went thru perfectly. However,
almost none of the Jonathan’s worked because the pulp is too soft, meaning that they had to be hand pealed and sliced. The Cortland apples made the most
fabulous apple pie. The Jonathans make a nice apple sauce because they only need to cook for a few minutes to get soft enough for the food mill. I’m happy with
both for different reasons. Thanks! -Nancy
………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………

I ordered Honey and Grapes this time around (Apples will be next order.) I am so happy with the grapes! We have made 17 quarts of grape juice and will be
making the ‘mash’ into jam! There was very little loss and the grapes were very ripe and ready to juice and enjoy! I’m thinking of getting more this next order
along with my apples! Thanks Erin!

The apples are crisp and wonderful as is. Shared them with friends. Made grape jam out of the concords(yumyum).Haven’t tried the honey yet, will let you know when I try it. So far I have really been happy with all I have ordered. I’m anxious to grind some wheat and make a loaf of bread. – Delores
………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………

The golden delicious were almost too pretty to can, but they did make terrific applesauce. The honeycrisps are too delicious to keep to myself, but after I share one, most everyone wants more. HC are best chilled. Sweet and a unique crispy crunch.

We bought Mutsu, Golden Delicious, and Jonagold and they were all wonderful. I dehydrated some of the golden delicious and jonagold, the rest we are just enjoying in recipes and eating. I can honestly say those are the best apples I have ever eaten. Split the bushels with my family, I dont think my bushel will last long enough to see if they will keep well 🙂

Hi Erin, I picked apples up this morning and they are the best we have ever had. It’s like they have just come off the tree. Nice and firm. I can’t wait to start using them tomorrow. We have an old freezer in our garage that we do not use so we are storing them in there so the little critters will not get at them. Oh, would the squirrels and mice love these but, there hopefully not going to get anything but maybe the peelings. Thank you for working so hard on this for us.

he Ida Reds are a pretty apple. They have different shapes. The peel is a little rubbery but that may contribute to the great storing reviews I read. Thanks for making yourself available to bring wholesome foods to our community!

I really liked the apples a lot. I made an apple pie last night and it was delicious. Great taste, sweet, juicy, good consistency, perfect for pies or just eating. I’m making up batches of the cut up apples with all the apple pie spices and freezing them in baggies. When I wanted an apple pie, I just take it out of the freezer, thaw and pour it into a pie crust and bake. So easy. I did this last year with apples from a friends apple tree. She moved. So I’m glad I found out about you guys.

I ordered Ida Red, Mutsu and Golden Delicious this time. I’m completely satisfied with the Mutsu and Golden Delicious, however I didn’t like the Ida Red. I thought that since they were advertised for being great for winter storage, they would be somewhat firm. These are very mushy and I’m cooking them in applesauce instead of saving them through the winter. I don’t think I’ll be ordering that kind again!

On the last apple order (Oct) we got Cameo apples. We had not tried these before. They are really good eating apples; tasty, crisp, juicy, with just a hint of tartness. I have not cooked any yet. Earlier we had bought a bushel of Galas, and Ida Reds (my favorite). The Ida Reds make a really good apple pie.

Thanks so much for making the apples available to us.

Cameos, nice and tasty. ida reds, disappointing. not nearly as flavorful, crisp or juicy as the first batch. less red also. made me wonder if it was even the same variety. decided must have been a different orchard or something. too bad, as i got so many. oh well. fugi’s hard and dry, but my experience with those is they sometimes improve in storage, so am hopeful that will be the case. thanks for asking.

Fabulous, terrific, awesome, tasty, firm great. These are just like they have just come off the tree. I sat and peeled 60 apples , fuji, cameo, paula reds and mutsu yesterday and am making pies to freeze. Then is apple butter and apple jelly. thank you Erin for all your hard work

We got a bushel of Golden Delicious in your first order and another bushel from the last order and also a bushel of Fujis. They are all delicious. Thanks for making them available to us.
……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….

This was my first time ordering from you. My cameo apples are wonderfully sweet! Your truck arrived right on time. Look forward to doing more business with you!

Susan Dierx
………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………

I ordered the Cameo apples and all I can say is wow! They are absolutely wonderful. They have just the right amount of sweet/tartness to them. And they are super Crisp too!
thanks for the great produce!

Tonya Wimberly
………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………

I got the Mutsu apples, yum yum. I am in the process of making applesauce, you don’t even have to use a potato masher, I am just using my wooden spoon. I made some w/no sugar & then some w/ just a bit of raw sugar added, they are so tasty.
Thanks you,

Ginny Drews
……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….

We love our Mutsu apples. We eat them raw mostly. I was very pleased not to see any rotten apples in my boxes and they seem to be keeping quite nicely 🙂

Christena Clark
………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………

This is my 2nd order from the co-op. I loved the first one so much that I told all my friends about it and they all ordered. I got Golden Delicious apples both times. The November batch was mushy and grainy, the kind of apples I get at wal-mart.. very disappointing. I hate to complain but you asked… 🙁 Wondering if these are leftovers, they arent the same apples as I first got. Unless they are indeed literally the same apples, a month old.. Sorry but not sure if I will be ordering again. I cant afford $20 to waste.
……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….

The Fuji apples are very good but I prefer the MacIntosh for applesauce. But they are good eating apples.

Jeanie
………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..

The Cameo apples are the perfect eating apple, my Ida Reds made the best apple sauce, and the Mutsus are lovely for pies. I couldn’t be happier, and I hope we eat enough to justify me ordering 5 bushels next year!

Elise Lauterbach
………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………

the ida reds are lovely! I ate one, slurping, juice dripping down my arm…. and it smelled like apples smelled when I was a kid in the fifties and had picked one off the tree! I can’t wait to bake something with them….thanks so much, toni
………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..

The apples (Mutsu, Ida Red, Fuji) we got all had a nice flavor and texture. The only thing I was a little disappointed in was that the Fuji apples were on the small side.

Karen Rentschler
……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….

We love the apples! I split a bushel with a friend. Next time I plan on keeping them all for my family!

Beverly Johnson
……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….

he Mutsu apples were Very Good!!!

We have pretty much eaten them all raw.

Thanks for your efforts…looking forward to Citrus.

Dea Davis
……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….

To be honest, I was a bit disappointed. I felt like I got some older apples. I had the Mutsu highly recommended to me. I guess I should have just stuck with what I knew. I also got Ida Red, and they were quite mealy, as were the Mutsu. Live and learn. This does not mean I will not order again. I will just sample someone’s apples before I buy a big huge box. Also, would you consider selling half bushels? Might be a thought worth considering…

Sonja Drake
…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..

I picked up 17 cases of apples a mixtured of types all was well pleased with the apples. The Mutsu were crisp and juicy and full of flavor., the Ida Reds was my first to get those was really a good firm, juicy and a great cooking apple. Even the $12 Dollar Jonathan Goolds were really better than most store bought apples, I was totally pleased with this shipment of apples Thanks so much Looking forward to the Citrus.

I have not had the Northern Spies, but they are delicious. I bought a bushel and have been making a lot of apple stuff!!

Kim
…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………

the fuji apples we got this month (november) are delicious. they are crisp, juicy, sweet and a little tart. going fast!

erin morel
………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….

This order of apples are delicious! The whole family has commented on how good they are.
Thank you!!!

Patricia Pappis
………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….

the box of northern spy apples were about the same quality as the box of #2 juicing apples. I expected fewer blemishes, softness and insect bites. The apples taste good but will not hold as long due to the imperfections.

tana comer
…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..

The mutsu and fuji’s are DELICIOUS!!!! THANKS!

Christina Boswell
…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..

I have tremendously enjoyed the apples. thanks so much but I wanted to know when the citrus orders are going to begin I know How much we enjoyed as the oranges esp the Tangerines last year. I have several people asking me about the orange order.
Thanks for allowing us to be a part of your coop

Greg Stanford

I have been ordering apples from you for years and pick up at Cane Creek. This year we had family medical problems and I did not get an order in, but one of my good friend, Debbie Turner surprised me with a box of Ida Red’s. This has been my most favorite kind for years. I was not happy with the apples this year. They were soft, not the usual crisp apples as in the past. I would not accept the quality of this apple this year. These apples stay crisp for weeks. They must have been old to begin with??????

Joyce Davis

Bulk Natural Foods: I agree. Ida Red’s are my personal favorite too. They taste better than all the others, and keep the best too, but this year, they weren’t very good. It actually had to do with the unusually warm weather in MI, not old apples.

Erin Otto

The apples are WONDERFUL! We’ve eaten lots already, and baked a bunch of yummy bread! I was amazed that only a few apples had small bruises on them. The only thing bad I have to say is that the lady I picked them up from was 20 minutes late (and didn’t even apoligize), and was a little rude. I was very close to not handing over $60 to her. Other than that, we’re very pleased!

Amber Weber

The apples are firm, crunchy, and delicious!

Julie Lopez

The Cameo apples are GREAT! Firm and tasty. Unfortunately, the Fuji apples arrived in poor shape… lots of spots, bruises, and some already rotted. I had to throw half of them out. -Holly Cotter

Mutzu’s – Large & beautiful, but not hard & crisp – made them into applesauce. A friend shared some Fuji’s she ordered. They were sweet, hard & crisp. I won’t order the Mutzu’s (favorite) again, but probably the Fuji’s. Thanks so much. -Janet Bagshaw

The apples are delicious. Fuji’s are smaller than I expected, but the taste is superb. The Ida Reds are very tasty and cook well, keeping their shape nicely. Can’t wait to use them for Thanksgiving. -Carol Foriest

We’ve sure enjoyed everything we’ve received! The peaches in the Spring/summer were great & the apples we ordered this fall made EXCELLENT apple-butter! We couldn’t be more pleased! -Beth & Matthew Brown

The gala apples were great. The honeycrisp tasted great however they arrived with bruising so despite proper packing they are not lasting and we have had to throw a bunch out. So far the fuji from the most recent order seem fine. -Katherine Roberts

I ordered both cameo and fuji in the November order “just for eating”. Both are great! Sweet, crisp, slightly tart (cameo)-perfect! All the apples are of excellent quality. No bruises or “bad apples”. -Karen Pauls

My apples are great! Im still waiting for them to ripen more before I make sauce so I don’t have to add any sugar. However they are wonderful apples and I am very pleased with my order. I hope oranges and grapefruits are just as good! Thank you so much! -Joy Golden

We are enjoying the Ida Red. We had never had this apple before and it is sweet with just alittle tartness. Thank you! -Vickie Taft

We bought the MacIntosh apples both times – the first order was absolutely delicious and no bruising. We are from New York State and have a very difficult time getting good MacIntosh apples here in TN. Unfortunately our second order of MacIntosh had quite a bit of bruising and were beginning to get soft. The taste is wonderful and the price is wonderful but definitely not of the same quality as the earlier order. -Barbara Nash

we love what we got the flavor was very good and apples were easy to peel -James Lavy

We bought Jonathons (my favorite) and Ida Reds and made some wonderful applesauce out of most of them! Thanks. -Angela Danielson

We picked up a box of Ida Reds from you last week, and they’re absolutely delicious! I was a little hesitant to order an entire bushel when I’d never tasted that variety before, but the kids and I are gobbling them up and look forward to enjoying them all fall. This was our first experience with Bulk Natural Foods and we will definitely order from you in the future. Thank you for all you do! -Melanie Hill

Great apples ! Could not be happier! Ordered McIntosh and Fuji! Would do again and recommend for others. Only order was not tasty- plums, but everything else was great! Also I did get bag of white hard wheat, had some other seed mixed in, so I have to pick these by hand, not a big deal. Buckwheat we got was grown in China, that is a big NO for us. Too bad we did not know about the country of origin. -Daria Bernotas

The apples are delicious! They are sweet, juicy and the texture is wonderful. I will order them again! -Suzanne Lee

Purchased the Gala apples last week. Some will be pies in the next few days. Because of the crispness they will be excellent. Eating they are scrumptious. The rest go into sugarless applesauce. I make every year and can for the entire year. Was surprised that these Galas were so nice and hard, tart, and crisp, but plenty sweet. Very much like the Honey Crisp that top my list. Can’t stand a mealy apple and what I received were as good as the old Winesaps that I grew up with in Ohio. Thank you also for the great delivery service. -Shawn Maxwell

The apples are absolutely fabulous and they all arrived unblemished! I can’t wait to start making jam and apple butter with them! -Amanda Darby

We loved our Gala, Cameo and Ida Red apples! Delicious! The Organic Greening were great too. The Fuji apples were a disaapointment though. They were juicy but had no real sweetness and many of them looked strangely translucent on the inside when cut open. -Edie Caruso

Delicious Apples, my intention was to used them to peel, slice and freeze for future recipes, but my family asked me to leave them out so they can enjoy them!! I’m definitely ordering more in December..hopefully by then I can freeze some 😉 -Yoisa Linn

Scrumptios Fuji Apples! hope we can order again! -Melody Horst

Johnathans were excellent the first time, but mushy the second order (October) Cameos are awesome! My new favorite! Northern Spy is our ultimate favorite for pies, but apparently not going to happen this year! What is the possiblity of Empires? -Carole O’Gorman

Unfortunately, the fuji apples were not as sweet, crisp or as juicy as I thought they could have been – several soft & mushy. -Marcy Stack

this is my first time and I hope there are many more…I have never had an apple this crisp and delicious since I was a little girl whatever you are doing keep up the good work do not forget about reminders for next order -cherie goldberg

Hi! I usually love all the apples I try but I got the Cameo this time and while they were fairly juicy and sweet they were also kind of pithy and they lost flavor the closer to the core they got so we tended to discard them sooner instead of eating the whole apple. It seemed like they were not as fresh as usual. I know all the apples form some wax but these seemed like they had sat in the box for a week before we got them. Very waxy and slippery with some bruises. I had wanted to give them as gifts but I dont feel they were quite up to par this time. Could it be because they were the Cameo? This was the first time I tried them. Other than this batch I have always loved every apple I got from you!!! Thanks for listening! -Corinna Brent

We have ordered Golden Delicious, Honey Crisp and Fuji this fall and have been well pleased with all of them. -Wanda Givens

The apples are great!! Had never had Ida Reds but love them. Almonds are also fresh tasting!! -Bethany Brandt

We have a new favorite apple…the Cameo!! These have been the most fantastic apples! Thank you for a great product, as usual! -Leslie Simpson

I love those apples. and a bushel fit perfectly on my refrigerator. we probably will need to order some more. they are taste sooooo good… me and my family can’t stop eating them.thank you again! -Trully Mason

First box I ordered were MacIntosh. They were great for apple sauce and apple butter. Not our favorite for fresh eating. Next box was Fuji which we love and they are staying fresh and delicious. About to start our second box. Will use your tips for storage. Thanks -Diane Barlow

Apples are delicious! Juicy and very versatile for eating, applesauce, apple crisp. Have told others about your coop! Plan to keep checking for more fruit availability! -melody kuhl

We got the Ida Red’s this time. Delicious, as usual!! We have been enjoying them! -Stacy Golmon

I bought the Mutsu Apples and they are SO good! Crunchy and sweet. This apple holds up for a long time so you can eat them fresh. Mutsu also makes great applesauce. -Nelda Gay

The apples are beautiful; I didn’t find one bad one in the box. My husband only likes very crisp, juicy apples, and he loves these. I’m thinking about getting more in December if they are offered. Great job guys! -Roni Bonville

The apples are fantastic. I will be ordering more apples and other items in the future. -J. Crawford

I ordered two bushels of apples and a bushel of butternut squash. The apples are great. However, half of the butternut squash was not edible. They were mushy. -Julie Kimber

They tasted fine… but I was a little concerned that the first day I cut into my fuji apples they were translucent around the middle. My first batch did not look like that. I may be wrong but it didn’t give me the feeling they were fresh. But will try again. -Lori Dillahunty

Sorry, that I am so slow in answering. The Fuji apples were very good, nice and crisp and sweet. They were quite small. My only problem was that, for some reason, my daughter,Laurie Schlisner’s order of cameo apples did not come. She got an immediate conformation but they did not come to White House where I was to pick them up for her. -Gloria Ruckle

Apples are delicious! I chose Jonagolds on the first order, and Ida Reds on the second. We love the Jonagolds for eating, but I have to say the Ida Reds made the best sauce for us! Did not have to add sugar at all! Thanks so much for the great quality! -Amanda Price

Most of the Fuji had a good taste. They soon started to become soft…kinda disappointed. -Trudy James

Not as good as Octand Nov apples, many are bruised.. Hoping they will last through the Winter.. we will see.. -Merryl Nall

Tim & Erin, these apples are delicious – very pleased!!! I wrapped them in paper towels then placed in 2 single layers in plastic bags & stored in extra fridge. -Marilyn Polk

They are delicious. Have them stored in the refrigerator. -jeanie O’Ffill

Love the Cameo Apples! -Tammy Clark

Delicious apples! I’m really not a big fan of apples ordinarily but these are fantastic. So juicy you have to wipe off your chin after taking a bite. -Lara Long

The Fall apples were delicious, delicious, and delicious. I can’t wait for next apple season. -Calvin and Mary McLaurine

My Cameo apples are amazing. We eat at least two a day. Our pecans are so fresh I have to hide them from my husband or I won’t have any left for baking. My only complaint is I bought apple cider not realizing it had to be refrigerated. This morning the jug was bulging and I knew I had missed that somewhere. So dissapointed it went to waste. I wish I had known. Thanks -Stephanie Stevens

These were the best apples we’ve had in EONS!!! Crisp, firm, sweet and juicy! The entire family has raved about how wonderful they taste. I couldn’t have asked for any better quality. Our prayer is that they store well so we can stretch them as long as possible. Thank you so very much for making a 2nd order this season possible. -Amie Braddock

The apples were awesome (as always) and the cider was amazing!! I loved it. Wish I had bought more. The pecans were wonderful as well! I just love Bulk Natural Foods! -Angela Danielson

in the past I’ve loved all the apples I’ve ordered (Fuji, Jonagold, Cameo), but this time I ordered McIntosh and was disappointed. Many were bruised and already mushy. They are not holding up well and are not as tasty as I was hoping. I’ll know to avoid them in the future. -gretchen Abernathy

We bought a box of Jonagolds this time. My husband, who’s not usually a big apple eater, said they were the best he’s ever tasted! They really do have a wonderful flavor and texture. The children love them cut up with some peanut butter on them…. Thanks for bringing them to us! -Amy Cutsinger

Delicious, crunchy cameos! -Melissa Rogers

The apples were great! We ordered Cameo and Jonathans. The Cameo are our favorites, so sweet and crisp. -April Wanner

The apples are delicious! Very glad that my family can enjoy fresh, yummy apples in December! -Darlene Long

The Jonagold apples are wonderful! -elizabeth domkowski

I had never tried Cameo apples before. They are very crisp, sweet and juicy. The fact that they are supposed to be a good keeper is certainly a plus. -Lori Grissom

The apples are absolutely delicious. However, even if it is just $2, it isn’t fun to pick up your apples at your host home and both of you have an order summary with 2 different prices. It also made us feel a little nickel and dimed to death with that price sprung on us that we hadn’t agreed to. -Jenny Vickers

The Cameo apples are good, but they don’t hold a candle to the Fuji’s I got last month. They aren’t nearly as firm, or as crisp as I thought they would be. While they are sweet, they just don’t measure up to a good Fuji, because the tartness that follows the sweet isn’t there. I don’t know how they will be when cooked, but will find out soon. I will be sure and order more Fuji’s next year. -Carol Foriest

The Mutsu’s Were Delicious. My Family is really Enjoying them. Thank You. -Dana McKinney

Our apples were delicious! Thank you! -Amanda Darby

My first order was organic Macintosh apples. Oh – the wonderful aroma that filled my car all the way home! The pickup point was very convenient and the Host Home family in Mt. Juliet are very sweet people. I shared my box with a friend; and I used up all my apples for fresh eating; juicing and making apple crisp. I liked the apples quite a bit, but I like the Ida Red apples I got in my second order better, even though these are not organic. The Ida Reds are crisper and have more of the tart-sweetness that I prefer. -Gail Jensen

I have ordered apples every time there was an apple order. I was very satisfied with every box. This last time though, I was very disapointed. I ordered a bushel of Mutsu apples and they were already soft with bruising all over. They looked like the apples that took me a few weeks to process. I feel like if the apples for the last order were going to be of such less quality than the previous orders there should have been a discount. -Debbie Martin

The Apples were great! The Cider is amazing and would love to have more. It is the best I have ever had. Really wish I could get several more gallons. Thank you. -Hope Bokoles

I got 1 bushel of mutsu apples. They were awesome!! We ate some, but I used most of them to make applesauce!! -Stephanie Bourque

Our Cameo apples were mushy this time. So, we dehydrated them. In the past, we ate them quickly! -Rosa Black

We are a new business in the Cookeville area serving fresh juices, smoothies, sandwiches, full salad and soup bar and more. We have bought your apples several times and are very pleased with the taste it gives to our fresh juices we make. Not to mention they are not full of pesticides like most. Thank you for allowing us to order through you. 931-528-4241 -The Turn Around Juice Bar Health Food Restaurant

Apples are awesome..as usual! Thank you for always supplying such wonderful, fresh, great tasting apples and fruit. -Nancy Willits

The Fugis, Mutzus and Cameos I bought were really fabulous. The apples that I spent big money on (The organic Jonagold and the Honeycrisp) were really disappointing…very mealy and did not keep well. I was really, really hoping for Northern Spy apples…those are my absolute favorites. Thanks! -Tracey Colling

The apples were great. The smell is almost intoxicating. We got the Cameos. They have held up so well too in the fridge. We still have some from the prior month that taste just as good as the new ones. -Carla Harper

We bought 3 bushels, one each of Ida Red, Fuji, and Cameo hoping they would last us all winter, but they were soooo good we ate them all before the next apple order you offered. We bought 3 more bushels. We use the cameo and fuji for juicing and the Ida red to add to smoothies. All of them get eaten fresh too. Thank you so much for providing such high quality and delicious fruits. -Allison

Over the last 30 years I usually made several trips back to northern Ohio to an area that had huge orchards where you can pick your own or buy pre-picked apples. Since I did not go back this fall, I ordered a bushel of the Jonagold apples in November and a bushel of Jonathan’s this month. The Jonagold’s were great but the Jonathan’s were the smallest I had ever seen, most about 2″ and some a lot smaller. There must be about 200 apples in this box so you know they are small. Most orchards would process this size of apple into cider. I believe this source is ripping us off. A bushel of apples that size should have been about $8-$10. This was my 3rd order with Bulk Natural. The first order was for peaches and that was less than satisfying since most of the peaches were so badly bruised that they had to be processed the same day we picked them up or all of them would have rotted. -Richard Brickner

We love our December Apples! We had cameos and Fuji’s in October, and they were great, but the Jonagolds from December are our home’s new favorite for eating fresh! We also have Golden Delicious, which are so wonderful and sweet, we’ve made applesauce, apple pie, and apple chips with them, not using added sugar. Thank you BNF! -Sara Bancroft

We LOVE all of the products we have ordered so far: almonds, pecans, apples, cider. . . very, very good, fresh, and TASTY! Thank you so much! We’ll be ordering again! -Cheryl Newton

I just received my order of apples last week. I have been cutting and peeling our Mutzu apples today and they are terrible! I am so disappointed because I had tried a friend’s from an earlier shipment and that is why I ordered these. They are bruised, mealy, and one almost was like powder. Hopefully they will make good applesauce, because they are not edible otherwise. If I had gotten them at the store, I would have returned them for the price. On the other hand, our golden delicious apples are fine. We have had a couple pithy ones, but overall, we have enjoyed them right out of the box. -Mary Pat Proctor

We ordered our second order of apples for the fall. Absolutely love the,m. My favorite are Ida Reds and Cameos. The kids are devouring them. I don’t think the 2 bushels will last very long due to all our apple consumption. Thanks so much! -Tricia R

These apples are delicious – my whole family is thoroughly enjoying them! -Gail Compton

The apples were wonderful! I made 2 batches of applesauce and one batch of apple pie filling. Delicious!! -Tamara Whiteside

delicious! -suzanne lee

California Citrus Reviews:

The oranges were absolutely wonderful, sweet and delicious. We got organic and regular ones. The lemons were also good although more tart than some I’ve had. The only disappointment was losing more than a dozen of each to mold.

My dad said he hadn’t tasted oranges as good as these since he left Arizona.

I bought them for a friend and all they have done is rave about them, that they were the best, sweetiest, most juicy grapefruits they had ever eaten.

We are NEVER disappointed with your citrus (or anything else for that matter), and this time was no different! The oranges & grapefruit are juicier and taster than any found in any grocery store. When I ask my kids if they want an orange, they ask, “Are they the good ones?” meaning your citrus, not some I got from a grocery store. If I say grocery store, they say no thanks. They only want the “good kind”. Thank you so much for making delicious fruit available to our family!

The tangerines were awesome!! Easy to peel & delicous! They were gone within the month.
Delicious, easy to peel oranges. Tasty, juicy grapefruit. Yum!

We bought the organic navel oranges. My husband thought there was no way we’d ever eat them before they went bad. Well, we are out! I hope we can place another order soon! They are truly the best oranges we have ever eaten.
the organic navel oranges were fantastic!!!!!!!! we hope you order them again! 🙂

I bought a case of the No 2 Naval oranges and the Texas Ruby Red Grapefruit. Both were sweet and so much better than what we can buy in the store. And the price was also cheaper. What I want to know now is when can I buy some more? Also purchased the raw almonds and we are still enjoying them.

The organic oranges were delicious- the sweetest we’ve ever had.

Those mandarin oranges were so good we wish he had bought twice as many!

The Texas Grapefruit were most excellent, juicy and sweet. I only regret promising to share so many.

The oranges and grapefruits we bought were so juicy and delicious they only lasted a week! We thoroughly enjoyed them. The Taylor Family

On this last citrus order I received mandarin oranges and they were AMAZING! By far the best citrus I have ever ate. Juicy, sweet, no seeds, easy to peel…just wonderful! We are 2 boxes in record time! We also got a 1/2 box of lemons and they are very good too. Full of flavor, and plenty juicy! Thanks for everything!

The oranges from California were awesome! We enjoyed every bite. Good thing they were so good because they did start to go bad quickly so we ate them fast!

The citrus was great. We especially loved the lemons and would be glad to get some more. They were very sweet compared to others. Also, the skin was a lot softer than others.

The navel oranges were very good though our box looked like it had been stacked on the bottoma as many were misshapen. Most of those were good though we did lose a few.

The organic oranges that we bought were large and tasty. But with the additional $3 PER box added delivery charge and since we are going to Nashville for our other groceries too, it doesn’t make sense to purchase them more than we can get them in Nashville.

I forgot to complete a survey, but the organic navel organges and the red grapefruit were outstanding!!!

Thanks so much. I have been meaning to write to let you guys know that we thought the tangerines from the last citrus order were the BEST in the World! We can’t stop talking about them. They were easy to peel and wonderful to eat! Also, the new order form is amazing! Thanks so much for making it so easy. Catherine

It was very good! I was a lot happier this this shipment than with the one in January. Keep up the good work.

I moved to TN from Florida. The oranges I bought from you were the juiciest and most flavorful that I have EVER had!

The California navel oranges we received in our shipment this month are delicious. Juicy, flavorable, easy to peel fruit – can’t be beat!
oranges several bad (mushy) ones in the box and the rest did not keep well @ all

We Have really enjoyed the clementines that we bought.

The oranges were phenomenally delicious!! Best we’ve ever had. Wish we could get a box a week!

The organic naval oranges were Delicious. I just did not buy enough of them. The organic lemons were fantastic too. Yep, I need to buy more of those also next time.

fruit tasted great, but spoiled very quickly. Out of the 9 boxes of fruit I got, I probably lost 1/2 a box. I thought that was a bit much.

The Californa organic oranges where some of the best I have ever had! They were gone in a matter of days!! Thank you!
the grapefruit was really good well satisfied

The oranges were WONDERFUL!! The grapefruit was delicious, and the tangerines were good. Thank you for bringing theses things to us.
The oranges and red grapefruit we got in Feb. 2011 were very good! They were juicy and sweet. We are a family of 10 and I thought surely 4 bushels would be plenty. Boy was I wrong…took us only a couple weeks to eat them up. LOL! Thanks so much and God Bless 🙂

The mandarin oranges were terrific! Gone in a flash.

Mandarin Oranges. The best I have ever eaten. The entire case was eaten by two people. Wish we had more.

Texas Orange and Grapefruit Reviews

We thought the grapefruits were fantastic; very flavorful, sweet and juicy, and such a dark red! The oranges were only so-so – the navels were definitely sweet and juicy, but the flavor was somewhat lacking. The oranges with seeds were somewhat better. Anyway, they made nice juice, and my kids liked them!
We stored our fruit at a pretty consistent 35-45 degrees and had no trouble with spoilage.

Erin

I spent 27 years in Florida.. where Citrus abounds… But I have never eaten an orange or grapefruit nearly as good as these that we ordered from you. The Ruby Red Grapefruit is juicy and sweet and the Naval Oranges were also wonderful. You can be sure that I will order again when you offer them.

Thank you and God Bless You,
Carolyn VanSwol
……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………

The oranges were really good and we have thoroughly enjoyed them but we had several go bad rather quickly. I heard that many of the oranges were like that this year.

Bethany Brandt
…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..

We got the box of 88 oranges. My husband really liked them because they were thin skinned, and very juicy. We ate some of the grapefruit that our son got and they were so sweet and juicy.

Jan Hobbs
…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..

We enjoyed the large navel oranges we bought very much. Thanks for your help in getting them. Wanda
……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………

We got the box of 88 Naval seedless oranges. They were easy to peel, and flavorful enough for us. Only 2 were bad. We gave a lot away to friends during Christmas, so we will definitely be ready for more when you make another order, apples or oranges.

Thanks so much,
Wilda
……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………

The navel oranges were a little disappointing in juice and flavor. But the RED GRAPEFRUIT!!!! They were and are incredible, so juicy and sweet. We shall be first in line for these next time.

Sue
……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………

We loved the small navel oranges and the fuji apples, and found them a great deal. We can’t wait to order more!

We got two boxes of the red grapefruit and were very pleased with them, they taste great and are very juicy. They froze up beautifully and we love to eat them still partially frozen. Thanks Erin!

Vicky Pilgrim
……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………

Oranges exceeded expectations, juicy and sweet still enjoying what’s left and wondering if they’re all gone?
Grapefruit, although very juicy have to be eaten with sugar as they are very tart maybe next time order some ruby red as these seem to be naturally sweet.

Sal Russo

The oranges and grapefruit were sweet like candy! Thank you!

Erin, I have already submitted a review, upon receiving our fruit order & just wanted to update on the oranges. While they were delicious, they did not keep well at all. (one was spoiled when we got our order, but out of a bushel, probably not bad..)
The grapefruits were great!
Thanks, Renee Young
…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….

Thank You for the wonderful oranges and grapefruit that we ordered back in December. The grapefruit were some of the best we’ve ever had. My husband loved the oranges so well he was eating two or three at a time. As far as we are concerned the grower you chose was excellent..
Joe and Linda Johnson
……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..

I purchased the Fuji apples which were all firm and crisp. The red grapefruits (non-organic) were juicy and delicious. You all are doing a great job. ~L. Hopwood
……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..

We LOVED the oranges! They kept well too. Can’t wait to order again 😉

Tammy Clark
……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..

The oranges and grapefruit we ordered in december were wonderful! They were sweet, full of flavor, and had only a few seeds. We didn’t have ANY spoil, of course they go pretty fast around here. I did separate them though into 2 boxes, that helps!

……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..

We’ve been very pleased with our organic grapefruit and oranges. They are all very sweet and juicy. There were none with bruises or bad spots. Everything was fresh and tasty.

Thanks,
Trish
………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………

The grapefruits from Texas were of exceptional quality, Second only to the ones that I’ve picked in “Nanny’s” backyard down in Fla.

The navels were okay, very mello with tender skins, but lacked that freshness and pulpy flesh that I am akin to in the Fla varieties. Made excellent juice though, yum!!!

My family and I enjoyed the citrus immensely and are grateful for your efforts.
Praise the Lord for the wonderful bounty.

Dea
………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………

We have really enjoyed the oranges. They are not as good as some I’ve had, but definitely worth eating. We got 2 boxes and have kept them in cold storage with only 1 or 2 going bad. Thanks for coordinating everything!

Joy Robles
………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………

I didn’t get any of the fruits but Tim did leave me a grapefruit and honestly was the best tasting grapefruit I’ve ever put in my mouth. Fresh and delicious! Looking forward to future orders.

We are rather disappointed and quite alarmed that the 5 gallons of honey we ordered has been packaged in a Lowe’s paint bucket. We are trying to contact the manufacturer of the bucket to see whether the plastics are food grade but we are not hopeful. We have been so pleased with the quality and service we have received from Bulk Natural Foods that this was rather surprising. Is there information that we are missing regarding honey storage or the quality of the Lowe’s buckets? Thank you for helping our family to live a healthier life and feel better.

Kenneth Mc Carver

BNF: The Lowes buckets are in fact food grade. If you look at the bottom, you’ll see the letters HDPE and the number 2, which denotes food grade.

Erin

Oh, thank you for the information! We were able to contact the manufacturer and they also informed us that the only reason the Lowe’s buckets are not approved “Food Grade” by the FDA is that the FDA will only approve white buckets as “Food Grade.” They assured us that these are just as safe. Again, we really appreciate how BNF’s is making a difference in our families’ health!

Kenneth & KaBao McCarver

BNF: You’re welcome! Our honey is normally packaged in white food grade pails. This order, the demand for honey was so great that our pail supplier was not able to
keep up!

Erin

THANKS FOR YOUR HARD WORK, ERIN. THE ORANGES I ORDERED (PINEAPPLE AND VALENCIA) WERE THE BEST I’VE EVER TASTED. THE GRAPEFRUIT WAS SUPER. IN FACT, EVERYTHING I’VE GOTTEN FROM YOU IS WONDERFUL. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!

……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….

Your fruit is so fresh, I always have to come back for more than what I ordered (so my friends can get their own)! This last time, I gave some of your oranges to a friend, and he said they were like a little taste of heaven! We’ll be back again…

Washington Cherries
If life were a bowl of the cherries that we received from the Washington Bing Cherry order it would be sweet indeed…and plump and juicy…we really indulged in them, and I read that they are good for our cardiovascular/heart health.

I was hoping to put some up, but by the time we got our fill of them in their raw state we had none to can(:
But hey raw is better for your anyway.

A Big thanks to you and your family.

…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………

WOW these cherries were fantastic!!!! All my kids kept saying”these are the best cherries I’ve ever eaten!” Great job on this fruit order. Almost every cherry was good- very few bad ones in the box. We are totally satisfied. Thanks for your hard work, we appreciate you finding super fruits at great prices.

Jennifer Brooks
…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………

The cherries were AWESOME!!! They were firm, sweet and lasted a long time. We still have some in our fridge. Very much worth the $$$!!! Thanks again….

…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………

Erin, I actually bought another box of cherries upon tasting the open box of cherries at the Franklin pick up station, and recalling that there’d be no other opportunity to buy more next month.

As soon as I got home, I placed both boxes in the extra fridge in the garage. I took one box to my Mom on Saturday and she was delighted to have them.

I’m going to freeze the other box today.

I’ve bought containers of cherries at Sam’s Club in which I have really been disappointed: shriveled and moldy.

I’ve found a few bad cherries in the BulkNaturalFoods box I took my Mom, but have no complaint as to taste

Thanks for asking.

Linda White…

…Erin, following up my reply, today I washed the second box of cherries I picked up Friday. I found only nine cherries I had to discard. I am extremely pleased with the quality and flavor of the cherries.

I froze them with the pit in them. Hopefully, they can easily be pitted frozen.

Looking forward to the next Bulk Natural Foods order opportunity.

Linda

Wonderful cherries! Only had a handful that were starting to go bad. I ordered peaches from you a few weeks back and were thrilled with those also. I made jam with both and have enough for the next year AND to give away! Thanks!

…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………

My cherries were absolutely fantastic. Thanks, Judy
…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………

The cherries were very good. I kept them in the hot car for over an hour. Then when I got home I transferred them to plastic containers for the refrigerator, and found only about a dozen with bad spots – i cut the bad spots off and my granddaughter loved them.
thanks for a good product. They are a real treat.

Pam Jurca
…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………

I’m enjoying my cherries! There were several that were bad (maybe a couple cups, I don’t know), but otherwise fine. And the ones that were not spoiled seem to be staying pretty fresh. No complaint!

Kyla Thorne
…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………

The cherries were very yummy. We canned the majority of them whole, raw packing & ended up w/41 pts. One box was absolutely beautiful w/less than a cup bad & one box was not so great, with about 2-3 cups bad & the good cherries a little wiltier than the first. Of what we canned, they turned out really nice.

Renee Young
…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………

Our cherries were wonderful. We only had maybe a dozen that needed to be thrown away because of mold or some other problem. I would definitely order these again.

Tina Howard
…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………

ERIN, THE CHERRIES WERE VERY NICE. WE ARE ENJOYING THEM. THANKS RACHEL
…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………

The cherries are very sweet but I would agree with you that they were a little on the ripe side. I would purchase them again though.

Emily Brady
…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………

The cherries were really good. I canned most of them but we eat some as well. There were a few spoiled ones but I still got plenty. Thanks.

Diana Hopkins
…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………

Overall the cherries are great. We’ve had some waste, but it is much less than 2 cups I blieve. Thanks for making them available.

Yvonne Dysinger
…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………

The cherries were great! We did have some rotten ones, but the price was good, and the taste of them made up for the bad ones we had.

Annapurna Slayman
…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………

We had quite a few cherries that were molded and rotten, but probably not more than a cup per box. The rest were delicious! thanx

…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………

Ours were fine. We had some bad ones, but no more than I would have found from Kroger cherries. The taste was delicious, and they are large and firm for the most part.

…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………

Thanks for the Cherries, wish we could get more! Lots of interest and just not enough cherries. Please do cherries again.

Christie Berry
…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………

The cherries are wonderful. I probably only got about 10 bad ones out of the whole box & they taste great!

Joy Bryant
…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………

Erin, the cherries are very good, both in taste and quailty; I have only seen just a very few that were bad. I appreciate all your effort in what you do with the co-op.

Vivian King
…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………

I’m in Charlotte, and my cherries were great. In fact, my husband and I just canned 12 pints of cherry jam, and I’m making a cherry pie tomorrow. We had about 1/2 cup of bad cherries. The rest were wonderful.

Erin the cherries are wonderful, sooo sweet. Thank you for offering us such a great service.

Awesome cherries! These will be amazing dehydrated.

…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………

My cherries are AWESOME! I only wished I’d ordered 2 boxes instead of one. Super yummy and only maybe 5 duds in the whole box. Thank you!

Molly Beamon
…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………

I drove around with my cherries in my trunk for 2 hours after I picked them up, then brought them into the house and left them on the counter overnight. I finally got them sorted and pitted and in the freezer this afternoon and ended up with about 1/2 cup of shriveled or moldy ones. My biggest problem was keeping my sons out of them so I’d have enough to freeze! 🙂 Thank you!

Luanne Riley
…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………
The cherries were quite tasty. My little girls have been eating them by the handful. I was happy with the overall condition of my three boxes. Some of them did get a little mushy from the heat, but I am dehydrating them, so it wasn’t a big deal. The extra cherries that were thrown in more than made up for it. I will definitely order more of these next year!

Sara Aronson
…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………

Love the cherries!

Tammy Clark
…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………

We’ve thoroughly enjoyed the cherries we recently purchased. While there were several that we couldn’t use, overall they were great. Can’t wait to taste the cherry jam!

Mara Burke
…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………

Hi Erin! =)

Wanted to follow up and let you know the cherries were amazing!! So amazing that I am really wishing I had bought more! If you get a chance to do another cherry order this year (long shot I know) I would commit to buying three or four more boxes. Some friends of mine helped to process mine since I was out of town. They were running out of time and just dumped the last of them stems, pits and all into freezer bags and dropped it into the freezer. As it turns out that has been such a cool way to store them! And SUPER easy. We just pull them out and munch on them as snacks, next best thing to fresh!

Thank you for all the work you put into coordinating these wonderful fruit shipments. I saw my friend Katie Talbott contacted you about a Raleigh NC drop! So exciting to see you expanding.

Take care and thanks again,

–Steph Tallent

Thanks for the suggestion to freeze the cherries for smoothies for future use. We have also been caning cherry jam and puree to be used for ice cream and pancake toppings! Overall the boxes we purchased for our family were wonderful! One customer who purchased with us was raised on a cherry orchard and she said her parents would of been so proud- she said these were big and tasty cherries!

Renee Casey
…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………

Cherries were delicious. Had a little more waste than expected but not as much as others. i put them in the fridge right away and turned down the dial to make & keep them colder than usual. Still worth the money!

Stanley Plums & Bartlett Pears

Hi Tim & Erin,

I just wanted to tell you how absolutely thrilled I am that you were able to get us those plums. I honestly have no single word in my vocabulary to tell you! They are something that I’ve grown up eating (my family is German, I’m the first American), so having fresh wonderful prune plums like the ones you got for us is just wonderful. I wait every year for the one week these are in season and then have to pay rediculous prices at the grocery store to see if I can manage to get a decent amount to make one cake like that which I grew up on. This year, not at all! The whole box was perfect! My grandparents are going to be thrilled when I bring them plum preserves that they grew up eating. And my freezer will be stocked so I can enjoy the cake for several weeks.

As you can see, no word to describe how happy I am.

Thanks!
Jessica Blair
…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….

Thank you so much for your time last Friday. The fellowship was great and the plums are wonderful!
Tammy 🙂
…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….

Both the pears and plums were amazingly delicious and fresh! Not a bad or bruised one in the box! Thank you so much!

Melissa Rogers
…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….

The plums and pears were great! We canned and ate the pears. The plums were made into jam, dehydrated, and consumed by all.

Elizabeth Chavis
…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….

I ordered the pears and they were wonderful. We canned them with a syrup made from honey and cinnamon and also made ginger pear jam. Of course we also ate them fresh.

Christa Smith
…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….

We were thrilled with the pears… still setting a few out each day to rippen and enjoy! The plums were not what we expected – will not order them again – many were too sour, even after ripened.

Dawn Blair
……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..

First time buyer. Got the pears. They were good! Wish there was a smaller quantity to buy though. 40lbs is too much for a single person! 🙂

Shannon Carter
………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………

Loved the pears and plums! Froze some, gave some away, ate some, and made pear muffins with almond slivers and plum cake. I get all my recipes off of www.allrecipes.com 90% of what i cook is from there. thanks so much, looking forward to grapes and apples!

………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………

Split 20 lbs of plums with my daughter! We enjoyed them!

Vickie Belden
………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………

The pears are delicious. They need to lay out a couple of days to fully ripen. We are ejoying just eating them fresh.

Wilda Patterson
………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………

Pears are DELICIOUS! Still have some plums; not sure what to do with them all. Thanks!

Diana Kulas
……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….

We all LOVED the pears and the plums – we ate lots just straight from the box and i loved the pears with honey goats cheese…..i shared with friends.

We made lots of pear crisps and sometimes combined peaches.

I froze a lot of plums pits removed and chopped for winter crisps and I canned yummy plum butter with only honey. I canned pears in organic apple juice and water. I wish I had more PEARS! Just ate the last one today…..

Jan Fox
……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….

We enjoyed both the pears & plums. We made pear butter, which was spectacular & then just a little pear sauce. The plum were good & we made plum preserves w/them, which were very good. Although we ate several of the plums, we still ended up w/18 1/2 pts of the preserves & 8 half pints of syrup. Thanks!
Of course, we ate many of the pears.

Renee Young
……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….

The plums were great – no spoilage – we weren’t as pleased with the pears as they were small and didn’t have much flavor – we dehydrated plums and have some good prunes – haven’t dehydrated pears – used them with an apple crisp recipe.

Pam Jurca
……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….

The pears were amazing! We bought two boxes and planned on canning some – but ended up eating them ALL! Our family enjoyed them so much. We’re looking forward to seeing them again next year!

Emily Stefanick
……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….

Dehydrated pears and made pear butter and sauce; made peach plum cobbler and froze plums. Got too many plums…will share next time!

Tracy Wells
……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….

The plums were fantastic!! My older daughter said they were her favorite ever. I canned some whole and made several batches of jam with them.

Thank you so much for such high-quality, affordable fruit.

Renee
……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….

Both the plums and pears were delicious. We ate alot of them before I started canning. Thanks again for everything that you do! You are a wonderful blessing to so many! May you be blessed a hundred fold for all of your efforts.

Tricia Schmidt
……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….

Pears and plums were great. Pears were made into pear sauce-same process as applesauce with no sugar added. The plums are pitted and canned for winter cobbler. Yummy!

Nancy Murray
……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….

Pears were wonderful. Canned some, froze some and ate a lot!! Plums turned into delicious plum sauce for toast, yogurt or ice cream. Very pleased!

Jennifer Stowe
……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….

I was very happy with the pears i got. We canned some and ate some.I had not had good tasting pears like that for a long time.

Lana Speicher
……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….

Pears were very good, still have some left to preserve in sugar syrup and alcohol (German recipe).
Plums were so..so, nothing to rave about, in fact, quite disappointing. I had expected German-style “Zwetschgen” like we grow in Germany: small, oblong, orange-fleshed and extremely sweet, none of which these were. Too large for making plum dumplings (an absolutely fabulous dish) one could use them for cake and jam, maybe put them in Slivovitz (plum brandy) to make them a little yummy. Sorry, no hit with this German who grew up with plum trees in back.

Hildegunde Tasner
…………………………………………………………………………………………….

Pears and peaches have been wonderful! Thanks!

Stetson Hoffman
…………………………………………………………………………………………….

I shared a case of plums with Nan and Gary and I ate them,
I preserved them, jellied and jammed them. Wonderful
plums. Now we’re doing the same to the pears. Such a
delight to be able to get fresh fruit. Thank you Tim and Erin!

Dee Hill
……………………………………………………………………………………………

My daughter and I made 22 PINTS of jam with our box and
still have some left over to eat!!! Yummy as jam or just eat
them!!!

Johnna Varni
……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….

They were excellent. I planned on canning/frezzing them myself but when a neighbor saw how good they were she volunteered at 50% of the finished product which worked out good. So next pear/plum order I’ll get twice as much…

Sal
………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..

The prunes were very slow to ripen this year (of course that’s better than being over ripe)!

Doni Hopper
………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..

These pears were fantastic! We canned 2 bushels and are looking foward to enjoying them all winter long!

Molly Schultz
………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..

The pears were very sweet and good. They had a fairly good shelf life also. My folks and we really enjoyed them.

Jody Zimmerman
………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..

The plums were very good we ate them all. The pears were good and sweet. We don’t know how to thank you for such wonderful things to eat. God is good for giving us such good things.

Dry Goods Reviews

We didn’t know eating healthy could taste so good. When can I order more juice and Granola? Actually, when can I order more of everything?

Salvatore Russo
…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………

Erin, loved the pick-up & distribution process, all went well. I have used this coconut oil before (Nutiva) & it is the best by far I have ever used & this is a very competitive price. The imported hard pack dates are very good, as well, same as the ones in the stores, but much cheaper! I haven’t opened our other products yet, but all appear to be of good quality.

Renee Young
………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….

The dry goods order came in just in time. I was almost out of flax seeds. I belonged to another co-op but the supplier closed so I have been looking for a new co-op. For my first order I can truthfully say it saved me about $20 in flax seed alone. I was going to order from the health food store until I heard about All Natural Foods C0-op.

The home where I pick up in Medina was convient to me. They also let me pick up after work.

I was well pleased with my first order for dry goods & I’m looking forward to the apples and almonds!

Everything was fine. The food is good. We mostly ordered nuts and tried almond meal which is also good.

Bethany Brandt
………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….

The order was ready on time. Everything was correct and Ashley even had change for me because I didn’t have the exact amount. I am really enoying learning to cook with all my new products. The fruit and nuts are fresh and wonderful and all the rice and flour seem to be excellent quality. I’ve already made spelt bread and the kids love it!

………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….

The pecans I ordered were as wonderful as the first batch I’d received months ago – fresh and tasty. Erin performs a great service for all of us and does it with efficiency and grace. I’m really glad to be a part of the Co-op and look forward to future orders.

Everything I ordered was received in good condition. The almonds are oh, so good in granola, which is our primary use for them. But I admit to munching on some out of the bag, and must say they are quite yummy. The Basmati rice is everything we hoped it would be – we call it ‘popcorn’ rice because of its aroma and flavor.

Our Country Life Dry Goods were great!! My kids are loving the dried papaya, pineapple and banana chips. They have made great snacks and much healthier and cheaper than other options. In fact I have to hide them because they are eating them too fast.

I also ordered 25 pounds of grits and to my surprise they were not ground as fine as what I am used to at the store, so I have to figure out what to do with them.

I’m always satisfied with the quality of grains and dry goods I order here. I only wish there was a closer pick up location. 🙂
