The Best Way To Store Whole Grain Flours
by Erin Otto
Whether you mill flour for yourself at home or buy ready-made flour, it’s always best to store it in an airtight container or bag in the freezer and not the fridge.
You may have noticed that bread kept in the refrigerator becomes stale rather quickly. You can freeze it, but for some reason refrigeration makes it taste old.
It’s the same with whole grain flour: it’s much better to keep it in the freezer than to refrigerate it.
We recommend that you store whole grain flours in the freezer and use them up within 2 – 6 months
